Vintage Signed Albert Scharning From Norway Sterling Silver 925 Modernist Art Deco Guilloche Enamel Brooch. Please note: I did not use any professional lighting while taking images of the brooch. When it appears darker, it is out of the sunlight on a desk 2 feet away. Any dark or light spots you see on the enamel is either shine or shadows. As you zoom in you can see there is a design. ALL of the pieces are in excellent vintage condition and show very little, if any wear. They look like they were just hiding in a jewelry box for 50 years or so. To me this piece is in excellent vintage condition! There is a gold wash over the sterling so the metal appears gold. The enamel is a textured and shiny.
The metal is sterling silver (925) and was made by Albert Scharning in Norway. The piece is shiny gold and all of the enamel looks great. I did lightly polish the brooch but I was not overly aggressive as I didn't want to damage the enamel at all because it is in excellent condition. Some folks will wear it as it is and some will do a little polishing of the metal to try to get it super shiny. I would wear it in its current state as I think it is really a great piece.

Most of the time, I try not to disturb any vintage/preowned jewelry by cleaning and/or polishing it in order to keep it in its original patina leaving it to your discretion. T want to take a chance ruining something. Depending on your own taste, you can either clean or polish it or keep it in its original state.
