Art Nouveau Plique a Jour Sterling 3 1/4 Pendant MUST SEE Designer Signed

This is a stunning Art Nouveau plique-a-jour pendant. It is crafted from sterling silver and has an enamel/plique a jour (like miniature stained glass) design.

Multi-color, this is absolutely gorgeous! Not familiar with designer, but it is definitely quality. Warm patina, you may want to polish. Originally, this had some sort of additional dangle on both bottom pieces.

You can still see the remainder of the string. Looks perfectly fine without it, when worn, you can't tell it had anything additional. It wears beautifully and will be a true favorite in your discerning collection. Measures 3 1/4" by 1 1/4" at the widest point.

Via Wikipedia: Plique-à-jour is a vitreous enameling technique where the enamel is applied in cells, similar to cloisonné, but with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel. It is in effect a miniature version of stained-glass and is considered very challenging technically: high time consumption, with a high failure rate.
